Job Details Job Title: Family Nurse Grade: Band 7 Location: ‘SPACE’ Unit 1-4 Hours: 36 hrs per week Contract: Permanent Salary: Band 7 £52,845 - £61,466 Role Overview The Family Nurse will work with a maximum of 25 pregnant first‑time young mothers and their babies at any one time, up to the child's age of two years, within the Families in the NHS (FNP) model.

Responsibilities Provide nursing care and support to pregnant first‑time mothers and their babies up to 2 years of age. Apply principles of Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) and demonstrate robust understanding of national and local child‑protection policies. Engage with children, young people and families in communities encountering inequalities.

Attend mandatory training events, including residential and non‑residential sessions. Maintain a PVG Scheme membership/record and comply with any required criminal‑records checks. Qualifications Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) sub‑part 1 or midwifery part of the register.

Degree level education in a relevant subject. Master’s level education or demonstrable clinical practice at Master’s level. Evidence of recognised nursing leadership skills.

Training & Compliance Mandatory training dates (selected): 24 Aug – 4 Sep 2026 – 10 days non‑residential (Base) 7 Sep – 11 Sep 2026 – 5 days/4 nights residential 4 Nov 2026 – 1 day non‑residential 2–3 Dec 2026 – 2 days/1 night residential 24 Feb 2027 – 1 day non‑residential 16–18 Mar 2027 – 3 days/2 nights residential 19–20 May 2027 – 2 days/1 night residential Additional 1–2 day training events will occur throughout 2027/2028.
