Interim Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

Description: Job Title: Interim Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis Manager Location: Edinburgh Contract: 3–6 months Salary: £65-68K (or day rate equivalent) An Interim Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is required to join a large public sector organisation on an initial 3-6 month contractual basis, based in Edinburgh. This role will support the senior finance leadership team in delivering high-quality financial planning, forecasting and reporting, ensuring robust financial insight is provided to support strategic and operational decision making. Key Responsibilities: Lead the production of monthly management accounts, providing analysis on key variances and supporting corrective action where required Oversee the financial planning cycle, including budgeting, forecasting and modelling Provide expert financial advice to senior stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, risk management and capital accounting Manage and maintain accurate budget positions, ensuring all funding requirements are clearly understood and recorded Collaborate across finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal leadership and external stakeholders Take responsibility for capital accounting, including asset management, valuations and compliance with IFRS and public sector reporting standards To apply, you will be a fully qualified accountant with strong experience across financial planning, management accounting and technical accounting.
