Job Description
Skills & Qualifications Experience in digital publishing, SEO, website content management, or social media. Ability to review legal or professional content for structure, clarity, tone, readability, and editorial quality. Working knowledge of SEO, including keywords, meta descriptions, URL slugs, internal linking, on-page optimization, and performance tracking.
Familiarity with WordPress or similar CMS platforms, Google Search Console, GA4, keyword tools, and social media analytics. Ability to convert long-form articles into social media posts, newsletter summaries, carousels, and short-form digital content. Strong coordination skills to work with lawyers, designers, website developers, SEO teams, and tech teams.
Ability to manage content calendars, publication trackers, deadlines, approvals, and multiple content workflows. Prior experience in a law firm, legal publication, professional services firm, media platform, or content-led organization will be preferred. Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, digitally aware, and comfortable working in a professional law firm environment.
Responsibilities Legal Publications & Content Pipeline Management Manage the end-to-end publication workflow for legal articles, blogs, case comments, legal updates, newsletters, and thought-leadership pieces. Coordinate with partners, associates, and internal teams for article drafts, revisions, approvals, publication timelines, and promotional roll-out. Maintain a structured content calendar covering website articles, newsletters, LinkedIn posts, campaign assets, and other digital content.
Track each article from ideation to publication, including author follow-ups, editorial review, SEO preparation, design coordination, upload, and post-publication promotion. Build and maintain a content repository with article topics, authors, practice areas, keywords, URLs, publication dates, and performance indicators. Ensure that the publication pipeline remains consistent, timely, and aligned with the firm’s digital visibility goals.
Editorial Review & Quality Control Review legal articles for clarity, structure, flow, readability, grammar, formatting, repetition, and professional tone. Ensure that every article has a clear legal issue, proper factual context, logical sequencing, relevant analysis, and a meaningful conclusion. Identify gaps such as weak introductions, unclear issue framing, missing implications, excessive length, generic commentary, or lack of editorial sharpness.
Work with lawyers to improve article presentation while preserving legal accuracy, author intent, and substantive legal positions. Ensure consistency in titles, headlines, subheadings, author bios, excerpts, meta descriptions, internal links, and formatting. Maintain the firm’s editorial standards across all published content.
Avoid exaggerated, sensational, overly promotional, or casual language in legal publications. Develop and maintain an internal style guide for legal articles, newsletters, SEO copy, social media captions, and website content. Website Content Management & Blogging Upload and publish legal articles, blogs, newsletters, practice updates, and related content on the firm’s website.
Format content for clean digital readability, including headings, paragraph structure, internal links, categories, tags, author details, images, and page layout. Ensure that every published page is visually clean, technically correct, mobile-friendly, and aligned with the firm’s website presentation standards. Coordinate with the website or development team for page updates, formatting errors, broken links, CMS issues, redirects, indexing concerns, and content improvements.
Regularly audit published content for formatting consistency, SEO hygiene, broken links, duplicate tags, outdated information, and user experience. Maintain a clean and updated database of published content, article links, authors, topics, and publication status. SEO & Organic Visibility Prepare SEO titles, meta descriptions, URL slugs, focus keywords, tags, categories, excerpts, and schema-friendly content inputs where required.
Conduct keyword research for legal topics, judgments, statutes, regulatory updates, practice areas, and search trends. Optimize articles for organic search while ensuring that the tone remains suitable for a law firm and does not appear keyword-stuffed or promotional. Improve internal linking between related articles, practice area pages, author pages, newsletters, and other relevant website sections.
Monitor content performance through Google Search Console, Google Analytics, keyword tools, and other digital platforms. Track impressions, clicks, CTR, ranking movement, indexed pages, high-performing topics, and content gaps. Suggest new article ideas and content clusters based on search demand, legal developments, competitor visibility, and audience relevance.
Support on-page SEO improvements, including headings, meta tags, image alt text, readability, content structure, and page-level optimization. Coordinate with the website team for technical SEO issues such as indexing, crawlability, redirects, page speed, sitemap updates, and broken links. Social Media & Digital Distribution Manage the firm’s LinkedIn and other relevant social media platforms with a professional, consistent, and law-firm-appropriate tone.
Convert long-form legal articles into refined social media captions, article announcements, short posts, carousel copy, and newsletter promotion content. Plan and execute content distribution across digital channels after each publication. Coordinate with designers for article banners, social media creatives, newsletter creatives, carousels, short videos, and campaign visuals.
Ensure that social media communication supports the firm’s visibility, credibility, and thought-leadership positioning without sounding sales-driven. Maintain a social media calendar for articles, newsletters, firm updates, events, media mentions, and other approved content. Track engagement metrics such as reach, impressions, clicks, shares, comments, saves, follower growth, and post performance.
Identify which topics, formats, and content types perform better with the firm’s target audience. Newsletter Management Assist in planning, compiling, editing, and publishing the firm’s newsletters. Coordinate with lawyers and internal teams for article selection, cover stories, key legal updates, summaries, and final approvals.
Prepare newsletter introductions, section headings, article summaries, links, captions, and promotional copy. Work with designers to ensure that newsletter layouts, covers, banners, and visual assets are polished and consistent. Support email/newsletter distribution, audience segmentation, mailing lists, and performance tracking where applicable.
Maintain archives of all newsletters, issues, links, creatives, and publication dates. Content Repurposing Repurpose long-form legal articles into multiple content formats such as LinkedIn posts, carousels, newsletter snippets, short summaries, web stories, and visual content briefs. Build content campaigns around key practice areas, legal themes, major judgments, regulatory updates, and newsletter releases.
Ensure that each published article has a clear digital distribution plan across website, social media, newsletters, and other approved channels. Coordinate with designers and video teams to convert legal topics into clean, professional, and visually engaging digital assets. Support thought-leadership campaigns that improve the firm’s digital footprint and organic discoverability.
