Position Applications are invited for the posts of Locum Consultant Anaesthetist at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. These 12‑month posts have arisen due to maternity leave and are a great opportunity to come and work in a dynamic and enthusiastic department. The final job plan will be agreed with the successful candidates and will include at least 1 SPA.

Specialty Interests Obstetric Anaesthesia Pain Medicine Regional Anaesthesia Qualifications Full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview, if trained in the UK. Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded.

Non‑UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. About the Department The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh has a large anaesthetic department that has recently become ACSA accredited and has close links with the University of Edinburgh Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. As a result, a range of opportunities exist for teaching, research and quality improvement work.
