As a Senior Credit Portfolio Analyst, you’ll have direct visibility of how our lending portfolio performs, and your work will actively shape the strategies that drive growth, manage risk, and deliver fair outcomes for our customers.
Responsibilities This is a hands‑on, insight‑led role where your analysis will directly influence portfolio strategy, risk management, and business performance. Analyzing portfolio performance – using portfolio metrics, KPIs and trend analysis to identify patterns, risks and opportunities across the motor finance book Optimizing portfolio strategies – refining lending criteria, affordability frameworks and in‑life decisioning to enhance performance and control risk Monitoring risk and emerging trends – identifying changes in credit risk, macroeconomic conditions and asset values to inform strategy adjustments Improving decision quality – using scorecards, affordability tools and performance data to ensure decisions balance risk, customer outcomes and commercial objectives Enhancing automation and efficiency – supporting improvements to models, strategies and collections approaches to reduce losses and improve outcomes Collaborating across the business – working closely with modelling, underwriting, pricing, and second‑line risk teams to deliver aligned, data‑driven strategies Impact Your work will directly influence how we manage and grow our lending portfolio, helping us: Maintain strong portfolio performance and sustainable balance sheet growth Strengthen risk management and governance across the customer lifecycle Deliver fair, consistent and responsible outcomes for customers Contribute to risk forums, MI reporting, and strategic decision‑making that shapes our portfolio approach over time Qualifications Experience in credit risk or analytical roles, with a strong understanding of credit scoring and decisioning Strong data and analytical capability (SAS, SQL, Python or similar tools) Ability to translate technical insight into clear business recommendations A collaborative mindset – someone who enjoys working cross‑functionally to solve problems A passion for continuous improvement and delivering better customer outcomes Bonus if you have experience with data visualisation tools like Tableau or collections strategy development Benefits and Work Environment Hybrid working policy (2 days onsite in Cardiff) Competitive salary and a great range of core benefits including annual bonus, 10% employer contribution pension, private medical and 38 days holiday A friendly and flexible culture, the same as how we work with our customers A growing organisation with real opportunities to progress A strong focus on continuous improvement, where your ideas can make an impact from day one Equal Opportunity Employer We’re committed to building a working environment that values respect, diversity, and compassion.
