Company Description Wingback Security is building intent-to-execution security for AI agents, models, and MCP connectors. We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern with strong development fundamentals and experience writing production-quality code in Python and Golang . Role Description As a Software Engineering Intern - AI Security at Wingback, you will contribute to the design and implementation of backend services that secure AI agents and related infrastructure.

In this full-time, remote role, you will help build and test features that trace agent actions, detect anomalous behavior, and enforce security policies at scale. Your day-to-day work may include implementing APIs, writing clean and maintainable code, assisting with data modeling, and integrating with AI and security tooling. You will collaborate with senior engineers to review code, improve system performance, and enhance reliability, while learning best practices in secure software development.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to work at an early-stage startup, move fast, and learn at the forefront of AI, AI agents, and AI security. You will work on real engineering problems, contribute to backend services, build internal tools, and help develop systems that secure modern AI applications. Qualifications Solid foundation in Computer Science concepts, including algorithms, data structures, and operating systems.

Hands-on experience with Software Development and Programming in Python & Golang. Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, databases, and basic cloud-native concepts. Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to apply them in clean, modular code.

Interest in AI, security, or distributed systems, with a willingness to learn AI security concepts on the job. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment, including clear written communication and proactive problem-solving.

Familiarity with version control (Git), testing practices, and basic CI/CD workflows is a plus.
