Job Details Position: Manager (Clinical Manager), Garron Centre, Child and Adolescent Acute Care Inpatient Unit. Department: Maritime Outpatient/Crisis/Inpatient, Mental Health And Addictions. Location: Halifax.
Employment: Permanent Hourly Full Time 100% FTE. Start Date: August 2026. Union Status: Management, Non Union Bargaining Unit.

Responsibilities Reporting to the Director, the Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, evaluation and improvement of patient and family‑centred services for specific care services. Major responsibilities include human resource management, fiscal management, professional/staff development, leadership, quality service delivery and program development. The Manager mentors team members, coordinates performance management, collaborates with physicians and other staff, prepares reports, manages operational expenditures, and participates in service plan development.
Role Description The position is the Clinical Manager of the Garron Centre, a Child and Adolescent Acute Care Inpatient Unit that provides mental health and addiction services for children and youth up to age 19. The Clinical Manager provides leadership to a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, clinical therapists, occupational therapists, recreation therapists, teachers, child life specialists, and other healthcare professionals. Working within a co‑leadership model alongside a Physician Leader, the Manager fosters a collaborative, patient‑ and family‑centred care environment and supports clinical leaders and administrative staff.
Hours of Work Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Flexible work hours may be required. Qualifications Baccalaureate Degree in a health‑related field required.
Current registration with the appropriate licensing body of Nova Scotia required. Master’s Degree in a health‑related field required (in progress will be considered). Minimum five (5) years in a clinical role plus two (2) years of related management/leadership experience.
Previous experience in a complex healthcare organization preferred. Previous experience working in Mental Health and Addictions preferred. Knowledge of program‑based care and patient/family‑centred care required.
Excellent leadership and team building skills required. Excellent communication (written and oral) and organizational skills required. Proactive, problem‑solution focused, analytical and innovative.
Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Excellent time management, organization and problem‑solving skills. Ability to develop and sustain internal/external partnerships.
