Location: Sheffield Job Title: Clinical Home Manager Hours: 37.5 Salary: ยฃ55K a year REQUIREMENTS: - Nurse with a current PIN - NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care - Previous experience as a registered Home Manager PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Operational responsibility of the home and people within it 2. At all times to maintain the professional integrity of the home and represent its interests in any dealings with other bodies, groups, or individuals. 3.
To provide all relevant information and leaflets to prospective new referrals, make appointments and show them and their relatives around the home. 4. To arrange and assess trial visits and always maintain a show room. 5. To carry out pre-admission assessments with the Matron and risk assess the compatibility of residents along with risks to ensure the home can meet the needs of the referred person. 6.
To ensure fees are at the set level and any variation to be discussed and approved with the Business Development Team and Managing Director. 7. To ensure a pre-admission care plan is in place prior to admission of the new residents 8. Ensure Resident of the Day is fully implemented and oversee completion of this through audit 9.
To ensure that family / relatives are fully always engaged with in care planning and service development 10. To ensure that adequate arrangements for the induction and reception of new residents and staff are in place 11. To ensure the highest standards of care are applied by staff through daily walk rounds and leading the Flash meeting 12.
Working with the Lead for Wellbeing ensure staff are instrumental in the promotion of positive mental and physical wellbeing and that activities whether internal or external reflect the persons hobbies 13. To investigate complaints, take appropriate actions ensuring records are maintained. 14. To liaise and co-operate with CQC inspectors and inspections. 15.
To work with members of the support team in promoting good practice, Lead for Wellbeing, Lead Nurse, Regional Manager and Allied Health Professionals Residents Care: 1. To ensure that the emotional, physical, spiritual, medical and material needs of the people living at Towerview are recognised, assessed and met. 2. To support people in the taking of decisions in matters which affect their lifestyle. 3.
To jointly produce an assessment of need of each person in conjunction with the Residents relevant professional agencies and family. 4. To develop a care plan this provides a satisfactory quality of life for that person. 5. To work with the Matron to ensure plans of care are evaluated monthly and where changes to presentation may have changed 6.
To promote relationships which enable each person to participate in social activities within the home and in the life of the local community to the maximum of their ability. 7. To ensure the provision of health care arrangements this may include the ordering, recording and where appropriate the administration of prescribed medication. 8. To ensure the safe custody and safe administration of all medication in accordance with the Care Standards Act (2000) and relevant legislation. 9.
To ensure prompt access to a GP, chiropodist, dentist and other health care professionals where required. 10. To ensure efficient running of the domestic character of the home which will include the following: a. Planning menus b.
Ensuring all dietary needs are met. c. Ensuring good standards of food presentation are maintained. d. Ensuring supplies are ordered. e.
Ensuring good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained. f. Ensure the provision of care including that which may be provided by a competent and caring relative and which may include terminal care, under the direction of a GP and with the support of the primary care team. Staff 1.
To manage recruitment, appointment and deployment of care staff. 2. To ensure that there is good communication with and between staff and to arrange regular staff meetings in accordance with company policy. 3. To ensure that effective induction, supervision and assessment of staff is carried out and that training needs are identified and met. 4.
To ensure that employment legislation is implemented. 5. To oversee staff rotas to minimise the use of agency staff 6. To uphold the homes Equal Opportunities policies and practices, thereby promoting fair and quality services to all.
Premises 1. To manage any malfunction of the heating, lighting, nurse call or emergency systems and ensure the security of the premises. 2. To ensure that fire regulations are complied with and advise the operational manager of any areas of risk and where necessary escalate risks to the Managing Director. 3.
To ensure that the legislation and regulations concerning environmental health, infection control, building control, planning and health and safety are complied with, and to advise management accordingly where action is required. Finance 1. To ensure that residents are, wherever possible, supported in retaining responsibility for their own money and financial arrangements. 2.
To ensure that, where a person is assessed as not having capacity to manage their own financial affairs, that their money is handled properly and with upmost probity and that clear records are kept of all transactions according to company policy. Infection Prevention & Control Infection prevention & control is everybodys responsibility, it is a requirement for all staff to comply with all the infection control policies and procedures. All staff should ensure that they fulfil their responsibilities for infection prevention and control, that they provide leadership where appropriate in infection control matters and that they challenge poor infection control practice in their workplace.
All staff must adhere to the Decontamination Policy All staff are expected to behave in a manner which protects the Residents, public and colleagues from infection risks within the scope of their role.
