Job Description

The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Maritime Civil Engineer to join the Energy, Water and Resources team in our Liverpool office or in one of our other UK North offices. This role will deliver technical solutions across a wide range of projects, including coastal resilience, port development, passenger transport, defence, and more. You will work with colleagues focused on coastal engineering and maritime and ports projects, influencing the shaping of coastal schemes, flood protections and port developments.

You will work across all stages of the project lifecycle, from advisory services and concept design to detailed design and construction support. You will directly collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, local councils, port owners/operators, financial institutions, contractors and public sector bodies. Responsibilities Deliver project work from early concept design through to detailed design and construction support activities.

Provide technical leadership and deliver civil/maritime engineering designs, calculations, models, reports and drawings. Manage project design delivery, ensuring high quality technical design and reporting. Manage commercial aspects, including monitoring progress and costs against programme and budget.

Plan and manage team resources and deliverables through collaboration with supporting disciplines. Assist others through technical collaboration and mentor less experienced members of the team. Adequate support will be provided to enable this.

Qualifications Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (BEng/MEng/MSc). Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership. Experience in coastal, maritime, or offshore engineering projects (e.g., breakwaters, flood defences, quay walls, jetties, dredging, scour protection).

Experience producing technical documentation (reports, calculations, drawings, specifications). Knowledge of physical modelling and metocean / wave / sediment transport analysis. Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.

Ability to manage small projects or work packages and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Interest in delivering maritime and port infrastructure projects.
