What Youll Do: Build, lead, and grow a high-performing team of engineers across Linux, bare metal, and virtualization disciplinescultivating a culture of technical excellence, AI-driven innovation, and shared accountability for eliminating manual operations through automation. Own and drive the multi-year strategy for platform architecture, automation, and AI agent adoption across RHEL, bare metal, and virtualization environmentsensuring the teams roadmap is aligned to business priorities and positions T-Mobiles infrastructure for continuous modernization. Provide leadership oversight on system design, deployment, patching, and compliance programsensuring the team consistently delivers against security, reliability, and scalability expectations.

Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align system architecture initiatives with organizational goals. Set the organizational direction for AI agent development and automation establishing the standards, frameworks, and team expectations that turn todays manual, fragmented operations into unified, intelligent, self-operating workflows across the platform. Manage team performance, provide mentorship, and develop career growth plans for engineers and senior engineers.

Hold the team accountable for robust monitoring, alerting, and performance strategiesensuring operational visibility and reliability across all managed platforms. Champion operational excellence through governance of technical documentation standards, process improvement programs, and incident management practices across the team. Manage project priorities, budgets, and resource planning to meet operational and strategic objectives.

Perform additional duties and leadership initiatives as assigned. What Youll Bring: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; Masters degree preferred. 810 years of experience in Linux and/or systems engineering across bare metal and virtualization environments, including at least 3 years of people or team leadership experience. Proven track record leading enterprise-level systems engineering teams in fast-paced environments.

Deep knowledge of enterprise Linux platforms across bare metal and virtualization environments, with a track record of sponsoring and driving AI agent development programs that transform manual operations into automated, scalable workflows. Proven ability to build and execute automation strategiesleveraging Ansible, AI agents, and infrastructure-as-code principlesthat drive measurable reductions in manual toil and elevate operational consistency across large-scale environments. Strong understanding of system security, compliance, and operational best practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to drive strategic initiatives while managing operational excellence. Must Have Skills: Strong technical foundation in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and infrastructure platforms spanning bare metal and virtualization environmentswith the credibility to set technical direction for AI agent-driven automation initiatives and hold engineering teams accountable for delivery.

Experience leading and developing teams of engineers in enterprise infrastructure environments. Demonstrated ability to set the automation and AI agent strategy for large-scale infrastructure organizationswith hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to accelerate workflows, drive decision-making, and model the behaviors expected of the team in an AI-first environment. Deep understanding of system security, compliance, and risk management principles.

Proven experience managing enterprise monitoring, performance, and availability strategies. Track record of delivering infrastructure modernization and transformation programs. Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice To Have: Experience with hybrid cloud and cloud-native infrastructure platforms. Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift) in enterprise environments, and interest in applying AI agents to automate operations within these stacks. Background in infrastructure as code (IaC) and DevSecOps practices.

Relevant certifications (Red Hat, IBM, or cloud provider).
