The Vice President, Sales is responsible for achieving sales objectives for the Cheese and Butter categories, developing sales strategies, preparing forecasts, defining budgets, and leading negotiations at the national level. The position reports to the Category President and oversees a team of Account Directors and the category’s commercial strategy team. Responsibilities Ensure achievement of gross margin and volume targets by managing current activities and driving category growth.
Develop long term commercial strategies aligned with customer and company objectives; prepare annual budgets and business plans and track performance. Coordinate execution requirements to align customer plans with overall commercial strategies. Manage all aspects of key accounts, including pricing, promotional programs, new product launches, forecasting, marketing investments, deductions, budgets, trade agreements, and account plans.
Contribute to special projects to differentiate and adapt to customer needs. Build strong relationships at all levels internally and with customer organizations, and lead executive level customer meetings. Coach, mentor, and develop sales team members to support professional growth.
Promote and leverage cross functional capabilities. Qualifications Highly adaptable and able to operate effectively in both operational and strategic contexts. Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent; MBA or Master’s degree is an asset.
Minimum 10 years of experience in consumer goods sales and marketing. Minimum 5 years of experience managing retail accounts. Experience managing industrial clients and food service customers.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing sales professionals. Experience working with market research data. Proven track record in developing and executing annual business plans for retail customers.
Strong analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Relevant experience and knowledge of the dairy industry (asset). Bilingual in French and English.
