Job Description
Key Responsibilities : Lead commercial evaluation of customer opportunities, tenders, bids, and proposals, including review of commercial terms, pricing logic, payment milestones, margin assumptions, and business risk. Prepare, review, and validate business cases, budgets, cost estimates, and key assumptions for proposals, projects, and regional operating plans. Drive pricing discipline and profitability analysis by evaluating revenue, gross margin, cost structures, contingencies, and sensitivity scenarios. Benchmark costs, validate quotations, and challenge commercial assumptions through comparison with historical data, market intelligence, and internal reference points. Partner with sales, bid management, supply chain, project, and legal teams to support commercial reviews, contract structuring, and customer negotiations. Work closely with Corporate Finance on budgeting, forecasting, approvals, financial policies, governance requirements, and management reporting. Support development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and periodic performance reviews for international business operations and opportunities pipeline. Provide commercial inputs on tax implications, cross-border transaction considerations, duties, and overall structuring in coordination with internal tax and finance teams. Develop management dashboards, proposal review trackers, profitability analysis, and decision-support materials for senior leadership.
Support internal approvals, investment notes, and leadership presentations with clear financial analysis and commercially actionable recommendations. Experience & Qualifications 12-15 years of experience in commercial finance, business finance, proposal finance, FP&A, or a similar business-facing finance role Relevant experience in renewable energy, power, infrastructure, or other engineering/project-based industries, with renewable sector exposure strongly preferred Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, pricing, cost analysis, profitability assessment, and commercial evaluation of bids/contracts Working knowledge of tax principles and ability to identify tax-sensitive commercial issues in collaboration with specialist teams Experience dealing with senior business stakeholders and corporate finance teams Professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, MBA Finance, or equivalent would be preferred Key Skills Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance growth, competitiveness, & profitability Excellent financial modelling, proposal review, cost benchmarking, and analytical problem-solving capability Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including ability to influence regional leaders and cross-functional teams Good understanding of contract structures, commercial terms, risk allocation, and governance requirements High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with ERP/reporting systems such as SAP would be an advantage
