We are looking for an SEO Web Developer who can work across frontend, backend, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, custom websites, and other CMS platforms. Role Overview The SEO Web Developer will be responsible for implementing website updates, technical SEO fixes, Core Web Vitals improvements, frontend changes, backend fixes, CMS updates, tracking setup, and landing page development across multiple client websites. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with code, not just page builders.

They should have hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, WordPress backend, theme files, plugins, and popular CMS platforms. The person should understand how development changes impact SEO, crawlability, indexing, speed, user experience, and conversions. Key Responsibilities Work on frontend and backend website updates across client websites.

Ability to build new pages from scratch within CMS platforms using existing templates, custom layouts, page builders, and SEO best practices. Manage and implement changes in WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, HubSpot CMS, and custom-coded websites. Make code-level updates using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Liquid, and CMS-specific templates where required.

Implement technical SEO fixes such as redirects, canonical tags, schema markup, robots.txt updates, XML sitemap checks, hreflang fixes, internal linking changes, and indexation fixes. Improve Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile performance, and overall website experience. Fix issues related to JavaScript rendering, lazy loading, unused CSS/JS, render-blocking resources, image optimization, layout shift, and third-party scripts.

Work with WordPress themes, child themes, plugins, custom fields, page builders, and backend settings. Build, edit, and publish landing pages, service pages, blog templates, location pages, product pages, and campaign pages. Support Shopify SEO implementation, including theme edits, product page updates, collection page fixes, structured data, and speed improvements.

Add and test schema markup, including FAQ schema, LocalBusiness schema, Product schema, Article schema, Breadcrumb schema, and Organization schema. Set up and troubleshoot GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console verification, pixels, forms, CTAs, and conversion tracking. Troubleshoot website issues related to layout, responsiveness, forms, plugins, apps, redirects, broken links, crawlability, indexing, and tracking.

Support website migrations, redirect mapping, staging-to-live checks, and post-launch QA. Coordinate with SEO, content, design, analytics, and client teams to complete development tasks accurately. Document completed tasks, blockers, access issues, and technical recommendations.

Must-Have Skills Strong hands-on experience with WordPress development. Ability to work with WordPress backend, theme files, plugins, child themes, custom fields, and page builders. Good frontend development skills using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Basic to intermediate backend understanding, especially PHP for WordPress. Experience with popular CMS platforms such as Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, HubSpot CMS, or Magento. Ability to make code-level SEO and website fixes, not just basic CMS updates.

Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile responsiveness, and technical performance. Ability to troubleshoot JavaScript, CSS, layout, rendering, and browser issues. Experience implementing schema markup using JSON-LD.

Understanding of redirects, canonical tags, robots.txt, XML sitemaps, crawlability, indexation, and internal linking. Experience using Chrome DevTools, PageSpeed Insights, Google Search Console, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Screaming Frog, Rich Results Test, and Schema Markup Validator. Ability to QA changes before and after publishing.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote setup. Preferred Skills Experience working with an SEO agency or digital marketing team. Advanced WordPress development experience.

Shopify theme editing experience using Liquid. Webflow design and CMS experience. Experience with Elementor, Gutenberg, Divi, WPBakery, Oxygen, or similar WordPress builders.

Experience improving Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift, First Contentful Paint, and Time to First Byte. Experience with caching plugins, CDN setup, Cloudflare, image compression, lazy loading, script optimization, and database cleanup. Experience with staging environments, backups, hosting panels, cPanel, FTP/SFTP, Git, and version control.

Experience with website migrations and redirect implementation. Basic understanding of CRO, form tracking, event tracking, and lead generation funnels. Ability to explain technical issues clearly to SEO and non-technical teams.

Update Shopify product and collection page SEO fields. Fix broken internal links and crawl errors. Add GA4 and conversion tracking through Google Tag Manager.

Optimize images, lazy loading, caching, and scripts. Fix canonical tag or robots.txt issues. Troubleshoot pages not getting indexed.

Build service-location pages using an existing CMS template. QA staging changes before pushing them live. What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is hands-on, technical, reliable, and comfortable working across different website platforms.
