Role Description As a LiveKit / VOIP Backend Developer at Swades AI, you will build and maintain scalable, low-latency backend services that power real-time audio and video communication for a US-based startup client.

You will design, implement, and optimize LiveKit- and VOIP-related services and APIs, ensuring reliability, security, and high performance in production environments. Day to day, you will write clean, maintainable backend code, integrate with front-end and mobile clients, manage deployments, monitor system health, and troubleshoot production issues. You will collaborate closely with AI engineers, product managers, and front-end developers to translate requirements into robust backend architectures and features.

This is a full-time, remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to a global product. Qualifications Strong programming foundations, with solid experience in general-purpose Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration with real-time communication (LiveKit, WebRTC, VOIP or similar).

Understanding of Front-End Development fundamentals to effectively collaborate with client-side teams and design API contracts. Demonstrated Software Development experience, including version control (Git), testing, debugging, and working in agile or iterative environments. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and performance monitoring for production systems.

Familiarity with security best practices for real-time communication systems, including authentication, authorization, and data protection. Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to work independently in a distributed, remote team. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
