About the Role The Senior Manager, Communications is a newly created role that reflects Equiton's continued growth and commitment to building a more strategic and integrated communications function. As a key contributor to the organization's communications strategy, you will develop and execute internal and external communications that strengthen employee engagement, enhance brand reputation, and support key business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how Equiton communicates with employees, investors, partners, media, and other stakeholders.
Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will help translate business priorities and complex initiatives into clear, compelling communications while establishing the frameworks, processes, and best practices that support the organization's continued growth. Key Responsibilities: Internal Communications Lead the development and execution of Equiton's internal communications strategy, ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with company priorities and values. Establish and evolve internal communications frameworks, channels, and best practices to support a growing organization.
Partner closely with leaders across the organization to communicate business updates, strategic initiatives, organizational changes, and key milestones. Develop and implement communication plans to support change management, employee engagement, and culture-building initiatives. Provide communications counsel and support to senior leaders, including executive messaging, presentations, speaking points, and leadership communications.
Manage and enhance internal communication channels and processes to improve effectiveness, transparency, and employee engagement. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives and recommend improvements based on employee feedback and engagement metrics. External Communications Develop and execute external communications strategies that strengthen Equiton's reputation and support business growth objectives.
Support the development of a corporate communications framework that ensures consistency and alignment across all external stakeholder communications. Support corporate communications initiatives, including public relations, media relations, executive communications, thought leadership, and corporate announcements. Collaborate with internal business leaders to ensure consistent messaging across all external communications.
Support the development of corporate messaging, positioning, and communication materials for key stakeholders. Manage relationships with external communications, media, and public relations partners as required. Monitor industry trends, market developments, and communications best practices to identify opportunities and mitigate potential reputational risks.
Strategic Communications & Leadership Act as a strategic communications partner to senior leadership, providing guidance on communication strategies, stakeholder engagement, and messaging. Develop communication plans for major corporate initiatives, business transformations, and organizational changes. Establish communication standards, governance, and best practices to ensure consistency across the organization.
Leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to enhance communication planning, stakeholder insights, workflow efficiency, audience engagement, and measurement, while ensuring appropriate governance, accuracy, privacy, and alignment with organizational standards. Foster strong cross-functional relationships to ensure communications support broader business goals and priorities. What You Bring 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, internal communications, public relations, or related fields.
Proven experience developing and executing both internal and external communications strategies within a complex organization. Experience building, enhancing, or transforming communications functions, programs, or processes is considered a strong asset. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
Experience utilizing AI and digital communication tools to improve communications effectiveness, streamline processes, analyze audience engagement, and support strategic decision-making. Experience supporting senior executives and developing executive-level communications. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated experience managing communication initiatives related to organizational change, employee engagement, or corporate reputation. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience within financial services, real estate, asset management, investment management, or other regulated industries is considered a strong asset.
Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $105,000 plus discretionary bonuses and/or commission. The actual base salary offered will take into consideration factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s skill, experience, and relevant education or training.
