About the Role Automotive Inspection Manager. Lead the vehicle inspection department within our reconditioning facility, overseeing vehicle inspections, maintaining quality standards, and managing a team of inspectors, apprentices, and technicians to ensure vehicles are retail‑ready and completed efficiently. Evening availability is required. What You’ll Do Lead and oversee the daily operations of the vehicle inspection department Manage a team of inspectors, apprentices, and technicians while promoting accountability, performance, and productivity Ensure all vehicles meet Clutch’s quality and safety standards prior to retail readiness Oversee vehicle inspections, diagnostics, repair recommendations, and quality control processes Monitor production timelines and ensure vehicles are completed efficiently and on schedule Establish and monitor department KPIs and production metrics Partner with leadership to improve workflows, operational efficiency, and inspection processes Provide coaching, mentorship, and ongoing training to team members Build a high‑performance culture rooted in collaboration, communication, and ownership Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management within the department Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, logistics, and operations teams to support business demands Ensure inspection documentation and reporting is completed accurately and consistently Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment Manage department resources, tooling, and equipment maintenance What We’re Looking For Minimum 5–7 years of automotive experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role Strong understanding of vehicle inspections, diagnostics, repair processes, and automotive quality standards Previous experience managing technicians, apprentices, inspectors, or production teams 310S License strongly preferred, or equivalent hands‑on technician experience Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, production‑focused environment Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively Data‑driven mindset with experience tracking KPIs and operational performance Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed Other Items To Note Frequent interaction with leadership, technicians, inspectors, and production staff Problem resolution and analysis: identify quality concerns, operational bottlenecks, and workflow inefficiencies Team/Individual Contributor: lead inspection department operations while supporting team development Working conditions: on‑site role in a production/reconditioning facility during evening hours Leadership, organization, multitasking, and problem‑solving required Why You’ll Love It At Clutch Autonomy and ownership – opportunity to create your own path and lead a high‑performing team Competitive wages and benefits Generous time off program Opportunity to work for an ambitious and fast‑moving startup Employment Type Permanent Full-Time Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $85,000 – $100,000 annually Health & dental benefits Pay decisions reflect objective criteria: skills, performance, market benchmarking, responsibilities, and working conditions Clutch is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where all individuals have an opportunity to succeed.
