Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Production Manager to lead afternoon shift operations in a fast‑paced and high‑growth food manufacturing environment. This role provides direct leadership over a team of 50+ employees and requires a confident, hands‑on leader who can exercise judgment, operate independently, and provide steady oversight on the production floor. Working closely with the Production Manager, you will take full ownership of shift performance, driving results, supporting Supervisors, and ensuring all production activities meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

You’ll act as the primary escalation point during your shift, making sound, timely decisions and ensuring operational continuity, including after‑hours support when needed. This is an ideal opportunity for a proven leader who thrives in a dynamic setting and is passionate about building strong teams, improving processes, and maintaining high standards. The hours of this role are Monday to Friday from 2:30pm to 10:30pm.

Key Responsibilities Support and oversee production activities across shifts Drive performance against KPIs, productivity, and cost targets Lead, coach, and support Production Leads and teams Act as escalation point for production issues and ensure timely resolution Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, safety, and regulatory standards Partner with QA on food safety, audits, and corrective actions Analyze production data and lead continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams What You Bring 5+ years in food manufacturing; 2–3 years in a leadership role Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, and Lean principles ERP experience and post‑secondary education are assets Proficiency in Microsoft Office Big Country Raw is committed to meeting the needs of persons with temporary and/or permanent disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.
