Location - Gurugram Sec-18 Job Title - Piping Material VALVE Department / Location: Projects - Gurgaon Office Reports to: Engineering Group Supervisor - Job Summary: The Piping Material Lead Engineer is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of piping material selection, specifications, procurement, and compliance for oil and gas projects. This role requires in-depth knowledge of piping materials, industry standards, and project execution in onshore and offshore environments.

The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective material selection while adhering to project requirements and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop, review, and approve piping material specifications, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations. Select appropriate piping materials considering factors such as pressure, temperature, corrosion resistance, and project-specific requirements.

Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API, ISO, NACE, etc.), client requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Lead material selection studies and provide recommendations for cost-effective and technically viable solutions. Interface with procurement teams to provide technical support for material purchasing and vendor qualification.

Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications. Conduct technical evaluations and provide solutions for material-related issues, including corrosion concerns and welding requirements. Review and approve Material Take-Offs (MTO), Bill of Materials (BOM), and other material-related documentation.

Oversee material testing and ensure proper documentation and certification (Mill Test Reports, PMI, etc.). Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and team members. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including process, mechanical engineers, to optimize material selection.

Ensure project schedules and budgets are met while maintaining high-quality material specifications. Participate in project risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies for material-related risks. Qualifications and Experience: Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 10-20 years of relevant experience in piping materials engineering within the oil and gas industry. Strong knowledge of material selection for onshore and offshore piping systems, including carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, nickel alloys, and non-metallic materials. Proficiency in industry standards and codes such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 5L, API 6D, ASTM, NACE, and others.

Experience with piping class development, valve specifications, and corrosion protection strategies. Familiarity with Material Management Software for making material summary. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot material-related issues in piping systems.

Strong communication and leadership skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. Please share your updated resume and the below details in order to proceed ahead.
