Description Financial Services/Payroll Support accurate and timely payroll processing for a largehealthcare workforce. As the Payroll Analyst, you will process payroll activityfor assigned cost centers supporting approximately 1,500 to 2,500 personnelwithin a payroll department that supports over 14,000 Medical Center employees.You will review time and attendance records, process payroll and personneltransactions, resolve pay issues, reconcile leave accruals, and supportcompliance with UC policies, bargaining unit agreements, and departmentalprocedures. In this role, you will: * Review and process payroll and personnel transactions forassigned UCLA Health cost centers. * Perform daily UKG Time and Attendance reviews for leaves of absence, newhires, separations, active review, retro review, and timesheet activity. * Process transactions related to separations, transfers, leaves of absence,missing time, payroll corrections, and off-cycle checks. * Research and resolve payroll questions from employees, department contacts,Human Resources, Financial Services Systems, Budget, and other partners. * Review UCPath and UKG transactions for compliance with payroll policies,regulations, bargaining unit agreements, and departmental requirements. * Identify and correct payroll discrepancies, employee appointment issues, latepayments, and potential non-payment concerns before payroll deadlines. * Update payroll system flags for UC and Medical Center-specific programs,including comp time elections, Pro-Opt, and other payroll programs. * Process salary expense transfers, lump sum payments, and payroll activitiesrelated to hospital and non-hospital funds as assigned. * Review, reconcile, and process leave accrual adjustments, compensatory timepayoffs, holiday accruals, PTO payoffs, and separation-related accrualpayments. * Support special projects and additional payroll assignments from departmentleadership.
Salary Range: $29.17 to $56.37 hourly Qualifications Required * Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalentexperience or training. * 3 or more years of related experience. * Ability to analyze and apply University of California payroll and personnelpolicies, bargaining unit agreements, departmental policies, and payrollprocedures. * Working knowledge of payroll processes, payroll policies, time and attendancesystems, and organization-specific computer applications. * Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain payrollinformation, document resolutions, and work effectively with customers andcolleagues. * Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity, discretion, andsound judgment. * Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks,deadlines, and payroll cycles in a fast-paced environment. * Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate ratios, decimals, andpayroll-related calculations accurately. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and payroll or time andattendance software. * Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and decision-making skills to resolvepayroll issues accurately and appropriately. * Strong interpersonal and service-orientation skills to support positiveworking relationships with customers and colleagues. Preferred * Experience working with payroll in a hospitalenvironment. * Experience supporting payroll and leave programs across multiple bargainingunit contracts is preferred. * Working knowledge of internal payroll controls.
