Job Title: Manager / Deputy Manager – Safety & Security Company: Ramaiah Institute of Science & Management Experience: 8–12 years of relevant experience Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline (preferably in Safety, Security Management, or related field). Mandatory Certification: Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or IOSH (Managing Safely / equivalent). Additional certifications in Fire & Industrial Safety / NEBOSH will be an added advantage.

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka Job Type: Full-time Job Role: The Manager / Deputy Manager – Safety & Security is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and compliant campus environment across academic buildings, hostels, and associated facilities. The role involves managing security operations, surveillance systems, emergency response, and statutory safety compliance while driving best-in-class safety practices aligned with international standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage overall campus security operations including access control, surveillance, patrolling, and incident management.

Oversee deployment and performance of security personnel (in-house and outsourced) across all locations. Ensure effective functioning of security systems including CCTV, access control systems, boom barriers, and alarm systems. Develop and implement security policies, SOPs, and emergency response procedures aligned with global safety standards.

Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and security audits across campus. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to safety, fire, and security regulations. Lead fire safety management including upkeep of fire detection and firefighting systems.

Plan and conduct mock drills for fire evacuation, emergency response, and disaster management. Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and emergency services. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Drive safety awareness programs, training sessions, and toolbox talks for staff and vendors. Monitor and control security-related budgets and optimize costs. Manage contracts, SLAs, and performance of security agencies and service providers.

Maintain documentation including incident logs, audit reports, compliance records, and MIS dashboards. Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
