CONFIDENTIAL SEARCH | General Manager – Transit Operations | Oakland or East Bay, CA I’m partnering on a confidential search for a General Manager to lead a large, complex paratransit operation in the Oakland/East Bay market. This is a high-visibility leadership role overseeing operations, finance, HR, procurement, maintenance, customer service, and vendor partnerships across a major brokerage environment supporting ADA transportation services. Compensation Strong benefits package including PTO, holidays, 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability coverage Key Responsibilities Lead all operational, financial, and administrative functions of a large paratransit operation Manage client relationships and ensure full contract compliance Oversee operations, payroll, HR, IT, procurement, maintenance, and customer service leadership teams Direct staffing, scheduling, safety, performance management, and risk mitigation Manage vendor relationships including taxi providers, rideshare/TNC partners, and third-party transportation providers Monitor KPIs and drive service quality, efficiency, and cost control initiatives Oversee budgets, P&L performance, procurement strategy, and operational improvements Lead labor relations efforts including grievances, negotiations, and union interactions Ensure compliance with ADA, Section 504, and all federal/state/local transit regulations What They’re Looking For 5+ years of senior leadership experience in transit or paratransit operations Direct transit industry experience required (not trucking/logistics) Strong experience with fixed route + paratransit operations Brokerage experience involving taxi providers, Lyft, Uber, and ADA transportation strongly preferred Strong contract management, budget oversight, and full P&L ownership Experience leading large teams in union environments Strong executive presence, stakeholder management, and leadership depth Ideal Background Large-scale transit or paratransit operations Public transit authorities, municipal contracts, or similar transportation operations Strategic operator with strong leadership presence—not just hands‑on fleet operations This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a highly visible GM role with strong executive exposure and significant operational impact.
