Job Description Overview \n\n \n\n \n\n A large services-based organisation in Leeds is seeking a driven and analytically minded FP&A Analyst to support financial planning, performance reporting, and commercial insight across the business. This role is ideal for a partāqualified or newly qualified accountant looking to step into a more strategic, forwardālooking finance position with strong exposure to senior stakeholders, \n\n \n \nKey Responsibilities \n \n \n \nPlanning, Budgeting & Forecasting \n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\t \n\t Support the annual budget, quarterly reforecasting, and longāterm planning cycles \n\t \n\t \n\t Consolidate financial inputs from multiple departments, ensuring accuracy and consistency \n\t \n\t \n\t Assist with scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to support decisionāmaking \n\t \n\t \n\t Challenge assumptions and highlight risks, opportunities, and trends \n\t \n \n\n \n \nPerformance Reporting & Insight \n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\t \n\t Prepare monthly management reporting packs, including P&L, cashflow, KPIs, and variance analysis \n\t \n\t \n\t Investigate performance drivers and provide clear, concise commentary \n\t \n\t \n\t Track operational and commercial KPIs, identifying areas for improvement \n\t \n\t \n\t Support the monthāend process with analysis and insight rather than transactional work \n\t \n \n\n \n \nBusiness Partnering \n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\t \n\t Work closely with operational and commercial teams to provide financial support and challenge \n\t \n\t \n\t Translate financial data into meaningful insight for nonāfinance stakeholders \n\t \n\t \n\t Support business cases, investment appraisals, and costābenefit analysis \n\t \n\t \n\t Build strong relationships across the organisation to improve financial understanding \n\t \n \n\n \n \nProcess & Systems Improvement \n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\t \n\t Enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and data quality \n\t \n\t \n\t Support automation and standardisation of FP&A processes \n\t \n\t \n\t Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function \n\t \n\t \n\t Assist with system upgrades or BI tool development (e., Power BI) \n\t \n \n\n \n \nAdāHoc Analysis \n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\t \n\t Provide analytical support for strategic projects, pricing reviews, and operational initiatives \n\t \n\t \n\t Prepare presentations and insight for senior leadership and boardālevel reporting \n\t \n \n\n \n \n \nCandidate Profile \n \n \n \nSkills & Experience \n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\t \n\t Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, or management reporting \n\t \n\t \n\t Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is advantageous \n\t \n\t \n\t Experience in a large, multiāsite or servicesābased organisation is beneficial \n\t \n\t \n\t Comfortable working with large data sets and producing clear, insightful analysis \n\t \n \n\n \n \nBehaviours & Attributes \n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\t \n\t Curious, proactive, and commercially aware \n\t \n\t \n\t Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge \n\t \n\t \n\t High attention to detail and strong problemāsolving capability \n\t \n\t \n\t Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment \n\t \n\t \n\t Comfortable working in a fastāpaced, evolving business \n\t \n \n\n \n \nQualifications \n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\t \n\t Partāqualified or newly qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) \n\t \n\t \n\t Strong academic background \n\t \n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n
