The SRE engineer would be responsible for leading and executing SRE initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that systems are reliable, scalable, and available. Essential Duties and Functions β’ Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding. Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures. Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications. Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions. Measure, monitor, and report of availability, latency, and overall system health based on SLIs/SLOs/SLAs. Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.
Participating in blameless postmortems to identify resilience and reliability improvements. β’ Triaging, routing, and resolution of issues and incidents identified by both internal and external stakeholders. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills β’ 3+ years as an engineer in Infrastructure, Operations, DevOps, or Software Development experience. β’ Applicable higher education, or equivalent work experience. β’ Knowledgeable in SRE tools such as infrastructure monitoring, application monitoring and incident management software. β’ Cloud experience with Azure or AWS. Ability to program with one or more languages, such as PowerShell, Python, Java, C#, Ruby, and JavaScript.
Experience with cloud services such as Azure, and the supporting technologies. Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases. A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
