JOB TITLE - Assistant Manager / Manager - Controllership DEPARTMENT - Finance JOB LOCATION - Bangalore RESPONSIBILTIES Core Responsibilities (General Ledger Accounting) Own GL framework, close calendar, and control checkpoints; ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance for Indian entities. Deliver month end close on time with high quality financials: journals, accruals, provisions, reclasses, prepaids/advances, GR/IR, suspense clearance, and GL to subledger reconciliations (AP/AR/Payroll/FA); enforce cut offs and checklist governance. Manage Chart of Accounts mappings, cost centres/projects/segments, and GL master data integrity; ensure alignment to reporting taxonomies and management MIS.
Prepare, review, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Ind-AS and IGAAP and drive timely period closures Act as finance SPOC for statutory, tax, and internal audits; prepare audit schedules, coordinate responses, and ensure closure of observations Support internal financial controls, identify control gaps and process inefficiencies, and contribute to standardisation, automation, and ERP optimisation initiatives (SAP preferred) Coordinate with Group Finance to ensure seamless cross-border operations, data exchange, and policy adherence Have knowledge of business combination/ acquisition/ demerger as per Indian accounting standard/ IFRS and Companies Act Govern technical accounting for per Ind AS/IFRS; ensure REIT/ regulatory disclosures and alignment with MIS; including accounting for development and service/facility businesses: revenue recognition (customer advances, unearned revenue), retention & liquidated damages, project WIP capitalization/close outs, and disclosures. Manage intercompany transactions, confirmations, eliminations, consolidation packs and upstream/downstream adjustments; ensure Indian accounting standard/ IFRS and Companies Act compliance. Maintain robust ICFR with documented RCMs; lead external/internal audits, ensure first time right deliverables, and implement root cause fixes for close issues, reconciliation breaks, and audit findings.
Provide support as required by Business Finance Teams for acquisition/divestment due diligence (financial and tax), and own the data provisioning for the same. Core Responsibilities (Direct and Indirect Tax Compliance) Perform tax accounting and reconciliations-26AS/AIS/TIS, ITC/2B matching, GST credit (including capex/project eligibility), refunds/claims, and disclosure controls. Perform end to end Direct & Indirect Tax compliance-accurate computation, review, filing, and on time payment for GST, TDS, ITR, advance tax, and MAT/AMT; ensure clean ledger tie outs.
Provide data and support to Pan India Tax Head for tax assessments, notices, scrutiny, and litigation across DT/IDT; coordinate responses with advisors, represent before GST/Income tax/SEZ authorities as per guidance from Pan India Tax Head. Coordinate transactions and certifications-legal/tax due diligence for acquisitions and leases, tenant tax reviews, transfer pricing compliance (Form 3CEB), Form 61A (SFT), and 15CA/CB-optimizing structures and controls. EXPERIENCE 6-10 years of Accounting experience with demonstrated Controllership and Tax role, preferably in REIT / property accounting EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION Qualified CA KEY SKILLS Advanced level knowledge of Finance/Accounting systems (SAP preferred), MS Office, Excellent analytical skills Proficiency in the English language BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES Pro-active thinker (Advanced) Can-do self-starter (Advanced) Collaboration (Advanced) Digital adopter (Advanced) Ecosystem builder (Advanced) FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES Ability to align to overall investment team goals and performance requirements.
Comprehensive knowledge of IND- AS accounting standards as applicable to real estate / Fund management domain, REIT / Non-REIT / SEZ accounting and fixed assets accounting activities. Comprehensive knowledge of Indian Direct & Indirect Tax Compliances. Effectively engages with senior stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Ensures all Controller activities adhere to accounting and regulatory standards.
