Business Development Manager Location Glasgow (with travel across Scotland) Overvie wOur client is a highly successful and established UK-focused business with annual revenues exceeding ยฃ50 million. As part of its continued growth strategy, the company is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Business Development Manager to strengthen key client relationships, identify new market opportunities, and support the delivery of sustainable business growth . This is a relationship-led role focused on account management, client engagement, networking, and opportunity development. The successful candidate will act as a key ambassador for the business, maintaining a strong presence within the market, building trusted relationships with clients and industry stakeholders, and supporting the conversion of opportunities through close collaboration with the wider busines s. Key Responsibilit ies Client Relationship Manage mentManage and develop relationships with key existing clients across the UK.Conduct regular client meetings to strengthen partnerships and identify future opportunit ies.Act as a trusted point of contact, ensuring clients receive a high level of service and engagem ent.Develop and maintain strategic account plans for key custom ers.Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address any concerns or emerging iss ues. Business Development & Market Intelli genceIdentify and track new business opportunities within target sectors and mar kets.Monitor tender portals and procurement activity to identify upcoming opportuni ties.Maintain awareness of competitor activity, market trends, and industry developm ents.Support business growth initiatives through market research and intelligence gathe ring.Provide regular reporting and updates on pipeline activity and business development perform ance. Networking & Client Enga gementRepresent the business at industry events, conferences, exhibitions, and networking func tions.Organise and attend client entertainment activities, including sporting events, hospitality functions, and corporate networking e vents.Build and maintain a strong professional network across relevant se ctors.Promote the company's brand and value proposition within the market place. Internal Collab orationWork closely with Business Directors to develop and execute growth stra tegies.Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to align business development activities with marketing campaigns and brand initi atives.Support the Bids and Proposals Team by identifying opportunities and contributing to bid stra tegies.Ensure seamless communication between clients and internal stakeh olders.CRM & Pipeline Man agementMaintain accurate and up-to-date records within the company CRM system.Track all client interactions, opportunities, and business development acti vities.Produce regular pipeline reports and for ecasts.Ensure market intelligence and opportunity data is captured and shared effectively across the bu siness. Skills & Ex perience EssentialProven experience within a Business Development, Key Account Management, Client Relationship, or Commerc ial role.Strong relationship-building and stakeholder managemen t skills.Demonstrable experience managing and growing key client accounts.Excellent networking and interpersonal a bilities.Comfortable representing a business at client events, hospitality functions, and industry ga therings.Experience identifying and tracking tender oppor tunities.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple pr iorities.Excellent verbal and written communicatio n skills.Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate client records.Commercial awareness and an understanding of business growth st rategies.Full UK Driving Licence.
