Job Description

Job Summary We are looking to recruit a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Secure Care Division, within a well established multi‑disciplinary team (MDT) providing support to service users. This role is a key member of the team, responsible for delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based occupational therapy interventions using person‑centred approaches to support service users' functional skills, independence and recovery across a range of settings. The post holder will also provide supervision and guidance to junior staff, contribute to service improvement initiatives, and play an active role in leadership activities.

Main Duties The post holder will manage a defined caseload, working autonomously within the MDT to deliver high‑quality occupational therapy. Duties include comprehensive assessments of occupational performance and functional ability, planning, implementing, and evaluating individual and group interventions to support self‑care, productivity and leisure. The role also involves coordinating care, contributing to case reviews, working in partnership with families and carers, managing referrals, maintaining accurate clinical records, and supporting integrated care pathways.

Additional responsibilities include providing professional support and supervision to junior staff, participating in audits and service improvement initiatives, and deputising for senior colleagues where required.
