Job Description

Overview The Regional Manager – Consumer Direct Sales plays a key role in delivering the TDS consumer value proposition directly to customers across the Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee region and surrounding communities. This position is integral to the consumer sales strategy and is accountable for driving revenue growth by acquiring new customers and expanding existing relationships through TDS’s full suite of products. In this role, you will lead and manage all in‑person, door‑to‑door sales teams supporting the regional footprint, ensuring customers experience a trusted, local, and customer‑first approach.

You’ll provide leadership for Consumer Direct Sales teams, partner and referral programs, and third‑party contractors, while driving market share across established neighborhoods and growing residential areas. The ability to effectively lead remote, field‑based teams and remain closely connected to local community dynamics is essential. You will own regional performance end to end—managing revenue and expense budgets, developing compelling offers, and ensuring strong execution in the field.

A significant part of your impact will come from hiring, developing, and coaching high‑performing sales leaders and frontline teams who represent the TDS brand every day in the communities we serve. Responsibilities Manage existing direct sales teams, driving activity and delivering sales results from door knocking, partner/referrals, property owner MDU partnerships, local event participation, and potential partnership with an external door‑to‑door vendor to ensure the region meets or exceeds sales targets.

Recruit, develop, and retain a team of sales supervisors and direct sales reps that deliver a best‑in‑class customer experience by using a consultative sales approach during each interaction and selling TDS’s entire suite of products based upon the customer assessment. Utilise data to identify opportunities and strengths validated by hands‑on observation and activity in the field with the team. Collaborate with the marketing teams to develop strategies and promotional programs in support of overall sales channel goals.

Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree OR 4+ years professional work experience. 5+ years of experience in sales or marketing. 4+ years of leadership experience. Must be able to travel a minimum of 20% annually. Other Qualifications: Due to managing multiple geographically dispersed markets, must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

Demonstrated history of success in telecommunications sales. Ability to set goals clearly and effectively and then attain them as demonstrated by a track record of setting goals, creating a work plan, establishing a reward, working diligently, measuring performance, adjusting as necessary, and then accomplishing the goal. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to convincingly persuade others, as demonstrated in personal interviews and via telephone.

Demonstrated history of success in management or experience as in a mentoring role, either formal or informal. Pay Transparency The listed salary includes both base pay and potential earnings from meeting sales quotas. The final offer will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, location, and role‑specific competencies. With our uncapped commission incentives, you’ll have unlimited earning potential.
