Location: Atlanta, GA (preferred) or anywhere within the Southeast territory (including Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia). POSITION We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager to lead business development efforts across the Southeast territory. This role involves active sales of high-end plastic recycling machinery, management of regional sales partners, and development of new business opportunities while supporting existing customers.
The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a strong track record in capital equipment sales. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Actively sell the full product line of plastic recycling machinery across key segments including Post-Industrial Recycling (PIR), Post-Consumer Recycling (PCR), and Polyester/Liquid State Polycondensation (PET/LSP). Develop and manage markets and key accounts in assigned territories.
Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers; listen to their needs and provide timely, effective solutions. Drive the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualifying, quoting, competitive analysis, negotiation, and closing. Manage independent sales representatives (local agents) and maintain open communication to ensure alignment and performance.
Collaborate closely with internal teams and international product managers to tailor solutions and support strategy. Maintain accurate project tracking and sales forecasts. Travel within the territory (50%-70%) to engage with customers and partners.
Represent the company at trade shows and industry conferences. Gather and report competitive intelligence, market trends, and customer feedback. CANDIDATE PROFILE Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales, engineering, or product management within the plastics and capital equipment industry.
Strong understanding of plastic recycling markets; an existing network in PIR/PCR is a significant advantage. Familiarity with extrusion or re-pelletizing equipment is preferred. Strategic mindset with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Proven ability to work independently and initiate actions. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Willingness to travel and adapt to a flexible work schedule. #J-18808-Ljbffr
