Job Summary and Qualifications The Senior Director serves as the strategic operational leader and extension of the AVP, translating enterprise learning strategy into an integrated operating model for learning. This role ensures alignment across a large, matrixed environment in Physician Services, optimizes capacity and resources, enforces governance and training quality standards, and drives measurable business impact through training and workforce initiatives. The Senior Director also champions innovation in learning, including AI-driven advancements, and fosters a culture of mentorship, team development, and skill maximization.
Major Responsibilities Convert enterprise vision into actionable roadmaps and operating cadence with Director Governance and prioritization of training strategies and initiatives serves a strong partner with workforce development initiatives (Workforce Development Center of Excellence) in addition to operations, human resources and PS stakeholder groups. Ensure all programs align with organizational goals and deliver measurable outcomes. Lead capacity evaluation and planning for training and development.
Balance demand and supply across service lines; mitigate bottlenecks and optimize utilization. Oversee vendor performance and manage operational budgets to maximize ROI. Provide oversight for all training programs and ensure partnership for TD initiatives and needs with workforce development initiatives.
Enforce quality gates and compliance standards; ensure audit readiness and regulatory adherence alongside quality and operational teams. Scale proven methodologies and integrate innovative learning technologies, including AI-driven solutions. Monitor and execute portfolio performance using KPIs (e.g., alignment, capacity planning, cycle time for support, achievement of defined goals).
Conduct reviews and drive actions to achieve enterprise targets. Report outcomes and strategic insights to AVP and executive leadership. Lead and develop Director/team; foster collaboration across service lines and cross-functional teams.
Serve as primary liaison between AVP and operational teams; communicate priorities and risks. Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Mentor and coach team members; prioritize well-being and professional growth.
Maximize team skillsets through targeted development plans and succession strategies. Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, or a related field is required 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in training, workforce development, or organizational learning at Director level or above is required Experience in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-functional teams and enterprise-level programs in a matrixed environment is required. Clinical background is a plus!
