Job Description
DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a highly organized Applications Engineer to manage the testing and validation of our award-winning industrial imaging technology. This role encompasses benchmarking and communicating the performance of our novel technology for specific industry use cases. This role is on-site and is based out of DarkVision’s head office in North Vancouver, BC, where employees enjoy full access to our facility amenities including a well-equipped gym, squash court, climbing wall, steam room, private showers, and more.
Our Team DarkVision develops high resolution ultrasonic inspection technology for industrial assets. We engineer, develop, and manufacture integrated hardware and software solutions for complex imaging applications and deliver advanced technical analysis that informs our customers of the condition and health of their assets. What You Will Do In this role, you will work with Product Managers to prioritize lab-based assessments of the inspection technology, project-manage the execution of the assessments, and become trained in our analysis software to interpret the results and performance.
You will help craft the messaging and communicate our performance internally and to external stakeholders. The content you generate will be used to showcase DarkVision’s differentiation and performance to customers, help focus research and development on areas for improvement, and support marketing and technical whitepapers. Testing Roadmap Work closely with Product Managers to prioritize each capability based on value and effort.
Translate the desired outcome into an actionable test plan – ideate samples and strategize to reduce time to data collection. Project Execution Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of the test scans. Be the primary point of contact and central hub of communication and information between project stakeholders and contributors.
Design/define requirements and communicate the required samples and test setups to internal and external vendors. Procure test samples with defect and component features that represent real downhole scenarios. Data Analysis Utilize our data analysis software to provide first assessments of the results.
Leverage data analysis SMEs to help extract conclusions and measurements. Communication Distill the results into easily digestible reports and presentations. Familiarize yourself with relevant inspection practices, performance metrics, and customer acceptance criteria, and utilize these standards for reporting; work with the Product Managers to show the relative performance against competitor technologies.
Qualifications 3+ years of relevant applications or test engineering role Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering Preferred Qualifications Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Experience writing technical whitepapers Jira experience is an asset PMP certification is an asset Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail Excellent influencing skills; track record of driving accountability Self-sufficient – able to make decisions and balance risk/reward with limited supervision Salary Range For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000 to $130,000 base salary per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. Background Check Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal background check.
