Job Description Lockheed Martin’s Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team seeks a candidate with strong expertise in Large Language Models or Reinforcement Learning, software engineering, and Python to support the Applied AI Mission Management team and product portfolio focusing on Cogniverse Mission Management. The role involves developing advanced AI agents and tooling for the Cogniverse simulation product across the entire software/system development lifecycle—from requirements, design, implementation, testing, to integration—encompassing low TRL research, proof‑of‑concepts, rapid prototyping, and transition to production. Responsibilities The selected candidate will: Engage in every phase of the software/system development lifecycle.

Develop and refine AI agents and tooling for Cogniverse simulation. Conduct research, build prototypes, and move solutions to production. Create high‑fidelity training and simulation environments using generative AI and reinforcement learning.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent experience, with 5 years of professional experience or 3 years with a related master's degree. Strong expertise in Python and modern C++ programming. Experience in system software engineering, deploying AI‑first systems, AI/ML development, data curation, data pipelines, building and deploying software for mission or battle management systems in the DoD domain.

Desired Skills Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline. Experience with defense industry operations analysis, multi‑domain simulation, or related systems of systems analyses. Experience with multiple SW architectures—monolithic, SOA, microservices.

Experience transitioning prototype technologies to production. Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Git (GitLab, GitHub), Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment. Experience with hardware acceleration, GPUs, NPUs, etc.

Experience with high‑performance computing. Experience developing applications on Linux. Strong self‑motivation, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Employment & Compensation Salary: The annual base salary range is $108,800 - $191,820 for the specified locations or adjusted for other locations. The position is incentive plan eligible.
