Job Description
The Assistant Sales Manager will be based in Bangalore and will be responsible for driving room and banquet revenue for the Yellagiri hotel by developing business from the Bangalore market. The role focuses on corporate accounts, travel agents, MICE, and regional business, acting as the primary sales representative for the property in Bangalore. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Generate room, banquet, and MICE business for the Yellagiri hotel from the Bangalore market Identify, prospect, and develop new corporate and travel trade accounts Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to maximize repeat and referral business Conduct regular sales calls, presentations, and client meetings in Bangalore Account & Market Management Manage key MICE and travel trade accounts assigned to the Bangalore, AP and Telengana Market Negotiate rates, contracts, and business agreements in line with hotel strategy Track market trends, competitor activity, and business opportunities Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and sales roadshows Coordination & Communication Act as the key liaison between Bangalore clients and the Yellagiri hotel team Coordinate with reservations, revenue management, F&B, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of confirmed business Communicate client requirements, rooming lists, and event details accurately and in a timely manner Reporting & Administration Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline and account database Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and activity updates Ensure all sales activities follow brand standards and company policies Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelorβs degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred) Experience 2β5 years of experience in hotel sales or hospitality sales Prior experience handling Bangalore travel trade markets preferred Exposure to selling regional or outstation hotel properties is an advantage Skills & Competencies Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills Good understanding of corporate, MICE, and travel trade segments in Bangalore Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with an off-site hotel team Proficiency in CRM systems and hotel PMS tools Strong planning, follow-up, and time-management skills Personal Attributes Self-motivated and target-driven Professional and confident in client interactions Willingness to travel frequently to Yellagiri and nearby markets Flexible with working hours to meet business needs Job Type: Full-time Experience: Leisure Travel Sales: 4 years (Required) Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka (Required)
