Job Title Product Analyst Reports To Director, Products & Commercialization Based In Ottawa, ON Term Full Time About the role The Seismic Instruments and Systems (SIS) division is seeking a Product Analyst to serve as key analytical support for our product, finance, and supply chain teams.

In this entry‑level role you will gather and organize raw data—such as product costs, pricing, inventory levels, and purchasing strategies—to create actionable business intelligence. Working closely with the Director and Product Managers, you will monitor the ‘vital signs’ of our instrumentation portfolio to identify opportunities to reduce product costs, optimize pricing, and align inventory levels with business goals. This foundational role is ideal for a detail‑oriented individual who enjoys using data to solve puzzles, build business cases, and improve the company’s bottom line.

Responsibilities Margin Analysis Support: Assist in performing deep‑dive margin analysis to help the team identify opportunities for pricing adjustments and cost reductions. Cost & Sourcing Data: Track product costs to identify potential savings and coordinate with Supply Chain to balance part cost with optimal inventory levels. Pricing & Volume Maintenance: Update and maintain pricing models used by the Product Management team to optimize margin health and sales volume.

Dashboard Management: Compile and update multi‑departmental dashboards that track key performance indicators such as sales trends, inventory turnover, and RMA statistics. Market Data Collection: Organize competitive intelligence and win/loss data to support future product strategy. Requirements Education: Degree in Business (Finance/Operations), Engineering, Economics or a related field with a strong emphasis on quantitative analysis.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet programs (specifically comfortable with pivot tables, data modelling, and complex formulas). Experience: 0–2 years of experience. This is an entry‑level position perfect for recent graduates with relevant internships or a passion for business analysis.

Analytical Curiosity: A desire to look beyond the "what" to help find the "why" behind data fluctuations. Clear Communication: Ability to translate complex data into simple, clear charts and visuals that help the team make decisions. Collaborative Mindset: A team‑player attitude and willingness to be the go‑to resource for data across departments.

Attention to Detail: High standards for data accuracy and a knack for catching small errors in large datasets. Assets Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio and AI‑assisted data collection and analysis. Exposure to ERP or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP).

Salary Information The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000, plus a corporate discretionary bonus. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s skills, competencies, and experience.
