Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Energy Recovery SUEZ is hiring for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Severnside Energy Recovery Centre. You will be working as part of a supportive, multi‑skilled team, delivering both reactive and planned maintenance while contributing to a site that turns waste into energy and helps reduce environmental impact. Salary: £36,646 - £39,832.

Benefits: £3000 call out allowance, up to 10% annual bonus, 5% employer pension, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays. Location: Severnside Energy Recovery Centre, Avonmouth. Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm.

What will you be doing? As a Mechanical Technician within our Energy Recovery facility in Avonmouth, you'll keep essential plant and equipment operating safely, efficiently, and sustainably. This is an on‑hand opportunity suited to those with a mechanical bias who want to build a long‑term career in sustainable energy and circular economy operations.

Key Responsibilities Carry out high-quality mechanical maintenance across all plant and equipment. Support colleagues across disciplines and assist other sites when required. Record work accurately using the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Maintain excellent housekeeping and update documentation following plant changes. Participate in a paid 24‑hour call‑out rota, and attend training when needed. Requirements A completed engineering apprenticeship, with City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.

Experience in maintenance engineering within a process, steam‑raising, or heavy engineering environment. Experience working safely in a regulated environment, including permit‑to‑work systems. A relevant health and safety qualification (such as IOSH), plus welding and burning experience.

Working knowledge of CMMS, a basic appreciation of electrical systems, and regulatory monitoring experience (MCERTS desirable). #J-18808-Ljbffr
