Intermediate Engineer, Structural Engineering - Industrial Job available in these locations: Montreal, QC, Canada Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC, Canada Quebec City, QC, Canada Mont-Tremblant, QC, Canada Boisbriand, QC, Canada Type of position: Regular Role Overview By joining our Structural Engineering team, you’ll be required to work with multidisciplinary teams on one or more projects, carrying out consulting engineering tasks such as design studies and preliminary and detailed engineering. You’ll also help prepare engineering documents to design structures for projects in the heavy industry, mining and metals, energy, petrochemicals, environmental, sustainable development or other sectors. Key Responsibilities Design concrete and steel foundations and structures Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc.) Prepare estimates, technical specifications and reports Help control the quality of work by technicians and drafters Supervise and coach junior engineers Help prepare estimates, schedules and budgets, where necessary Help plan, organize and assess work Help monitor site work, as required Assist with site inspections and surveys Perform other technical functions to support project delivery Maintain close and harmonious relationships with clients or their representatives Desired Qualities and Values Results-driven Strong commitment to health and safety Willingness to work together while having fun Sense of equity and inclusion Constantly seeking sustainable and agile solutions Rigour and ethical Summary of Certifications and Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or any relevant equivalent training and experience Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec At least five years of experience in steel or concrete design of structures Knowledge of structural analysis software Available to travel occasionally to client sites and offices Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec Asset: experience with structures in the industrial or mining sector Asset: experience in finite element calculations Asset: experience with dynamic structural analysis Benefits Annual premium program for all regular employees Onsite mobility premium Time bank Cellphone fee reimbursements Group insurance plan from the first day of employment, including disability insurance and a telemedicine program Retirement savings plan Annual vacation and sick leave Premium for employee referrals A vibrant social club with something for everyone Access to many experts and coaching A collaborative team that shares its ideas and knowledge Opportunity for site work: an amazing career accelerator!
