Job Description

You will be responsible for leading a small team of Program Managers, Program Coordinators and Learning Designers. Your primary objective will be to design and implement effective learning strategies and capacity building programs that align with Mila's mission and values. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our team members have the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles and contribute to the advancement of AI for the good of humanity.

Main responsibilities: Leadership and team management: Lead and inspire a diverse team of program managers, coordinators and instructional designers. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. Provide mentoring and guidance to team members, facilitating professional growth and development.

Strategic planning : Collaborate with AI for Humanity team leadership to develop and implement a strategic plan for learning and capacity building initiatives. Align learning programs with Mila's organizational goals and the evolving AI research and development landscape. Program development and delivery Design, implement and manage comprehensive learning programs, including workshops, training sessions and professional development opportunities.

Develop and expand existing program Evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Sales and Marketing Develop a comprehensive marketing plan in collaboration with the communications team. Develop a sales strategy in collaboration with the partnerships team.

Stakeholder engagement Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and partners to understand their learning needs and expectations. Establish and maintain partnerships with academic institutions, industry experts and other organizations to enhance learning opportunities. Resource management: Manage the budget for learning and capacity building programs, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Oversee the selection and implementation of learning tools and technologies to support program delivery. Qualifications : 8 years of experience relevant to the position Master's degree or doctorate in a relevant or related field (e.g. education, organizational development, business administration). Proven leadership abilities and experience leading learning and development initiatives.

Good knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts as well as the Canadian AI ecosystem is an important asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and project management skills.
