Specialist II, Vendor Management The Specialist II, Vendor Management, oversees, coordinates, and drives performance of CarMax Auto Finance (CAF) contracted vendors. This role will be responsible for communicating goals, objectives, performance feedback and open item management to both external vendors and internal CAF Management. This role will represent the interests of CarMax Auto Finance as the point of contact for assigned vendors, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery to CAF.

What you will do Facilitate vendor onboarding (offboarding as applicable) and setup in all relevant CarMax Auto Finance systems and processes to enable the vendor to serve the organization within agreed‐to parameters. Oversee vendor delivery and compliance with CarMax Auto Finance standards and applicable laws, rules and regulations (state and federal). Ensure assigned vendors are delivering on agreed‐to SLA’s, performance metrics, processes, timelines and drive open issues to resolution.

Assist in identification of root cause of issue(s) and/or performance trends related to vendors. Assist in remediation and process improvement initiatives and responsible for analysis, development, implementation and management of associated action plans. Act as liaison with other organizational departments; establish and maintain the working rapport necessary to understand interdepartmental dependencies.

Use this information to maintain active communication with vendors to ensure business continuity and message clarity. Provide consistent communication with CarMax Auto Finance operation leads to ensure visibility and alignment to vendor performance. Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews with assigned vendors.

Develop and administer policies and procedures to guide vendors and provide overall direction necessary to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective services. Actively participate in committees and programs for process improvements and strategic initiatives at the business unit level and own specific process improvements and strategic initiatives at the department level. Purpose of the role As a Specialist in Vendor Management, strong communication and presentation skills are a must to keep management teams abreast of projects and updates on vendor partnerships.

A self‑starter who can independently execute on job responsibilities would be the best fit for this role. The ability to stay connected to the business regarding the needs and vendors to ensure those needs are being met is critical in this role. The person in this role will have the ability to evaluate distribution strategy and allocation and make enhancement recommendations in addition to occasional involvement in the RFP process for new vendors.

This role will "drive what's possible" for CarMax and its Customers by focusing on vendor execution and enabling process innovation. Qualifications and Requirements Associate’s degree and/or 3+ years of experience in Vendor Management, Customer Service or related field Strong problem solving / analytical skills to identify trends, recommend action and lead solutions.
