Eversource will not offer immigration-related sponsorship for this position. Applicants requiring visa sponsorship will not be considered. Role and Scope of Position The Manager of Data Innovation holds a critical and unique position at the epicenter of the Engineering organization.

This role is responsible for leading and accelerating the Company’s transition to automation and data-based decision making, ensuring the right initiatives are prioritized by quantifying business value, risks and operationalization and employing expert knowledge of learning models and data innovation techniques. The successful individual is passionate about cross functional work and change management and is able to interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders, turn their needs into learning models and automation initiatives and deliver end-to-end products. This role will lead a team of engineers with deep experience in data innovation and automations.

The role is expected to be highly visible internally and externally. The ideal candidate is an effective presenter, has former supervisory experience and experience in the utilities/energy sector. Essential Functions Exemplifies an innovative mindset across the Company, always with an eye on projects with high business value, high return on investment and ability to be quickly operationalized.

Leads the Company’s transition to data-based decision making and is passionate about workforce transformation and change management. Takes a central role in creating an enterprise-wide data foundation, including evaluating source data quality, data relationships, etc. Can ideate, visualize, showcase and convince stakeholders across innovation projects’ and products’ lifecycle; from conception and proof of value to implementation and operationalization.

Aligns deliverables with stakeholder needs and is creative in staggering incremental products to deliver value when needed. Understands how Company data can support Company needs and strategic directions and leads and prioritizes engineering modeling and analytical tool development to support that. Sets targets for innovation initiatives and quantifies the benefits of “build-vs-buy” by researching industry best practices, commercial products and performing literature reviews, bearing in mind Eversource-specific constraints.

Acts as the liaison across the entire engineering organization for innovation initiatives and is agile in working with IT. Works diligently to advance the Company’s strategic goals with regulators and other stakeholders. Leads a diverse team of data analysts, data engineers and electrical engineers and supports the hiring process as needed.

Mentors and onboards new staff and keeps abreast of the team’s career development. Self‑imposes standards of excellence and has the ability to achieve desired results by effectively prioritizing work for themselves and their team and assuming responsibility and accountability to promote Eversource’s customer‑first standards. Presents internally to stakeholders as well as externally, for example in professional organizations like IEEE.

Drives regulatory responses and ensures company engagement and representation in applicable regulatory proceedings, technical sessions and working groups. Technical Knowledge, Skills, Education, Licenses, and Certifications Highly knowledgeable in electric power systems. Demonstrated expertise with complex analytical modeling and data models.

Strong optimization skills. Strong probabilistic, risk‑based analysis skills. Demonstrated experience with coding (Matlab, Python, R, SQL) and databases.

Experience with cloud computing in Linux and Windows environments (Azure is a plus). Must be an effective presenter. Skilled in working cross‑functionally with multiple other teams and with team members of various backgrounds.

Ability to exercise cost controllership. Experience with regulatory projects is considered a plus. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline required; Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in data science or data analytics. Experience in the utility or energy sector. Leading large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Former experience in innovation is considered a plus. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in supervisory roles. Licenses & Certifications: N/A.

Working Conditions Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required. Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary; travel throughout the service territory is frequently required. Work is performed in an office environment.
