Job Description

Job Summary Make it happen at Mondelez International. As a Process Engineer, you will support manufacturing line leaders in achieving safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and morale targets by coaching line teams, troubleshooting problems, and improving systems. Responsibilities Deliver loss intelligence, loss eradication, and loss prevention across the operation, building capability and engagement with core teams.

Participate in daily line management routines and in monthly and annual loss analysis, using PDCA to track performance and develop action plans. Own the process system to ensure line goals are met and to implement continuous improvement and process standards. Apply focused improvement and analytical skills, including RCA, Kaizen, 12‑step Kaizen, and Lean problem‑solving tools (5 Why, statistical tools, SMED, control charts, Pareto).

Co‑develop the Line Master plan with line and maintenance leaders and act as a strong agent of change. Generate, maintain, and report historical data for downtime (planned and unplanned), waste (B&R, rework), and centerlines databases. Ensure 100% compliance with critical‑to‑quality (CTQ), critical‑to‑process (CTP), and centerline requirements, audit execution, deviations, and target criteria.

Support all plant safety initiatives related to line processes and participate in daily management system meetings. Lead and coach core teams to identify and analyze losses and develop solutions and control plans using FI/Lean tools. Support waste‑reduction initiatives such as War on Waste, Manufacturing Standards, and World Class Scrap/Water Programs; assist with quality‑initiated projects.

Provide technical support to develop new cost‑saving programs and execute active projects. Document and capture best operating practices, centerline equipment details, and build capability in core teams; communicate key learnings for best‑practice replication. Analyze performance data to support global efficiency improvement and reduce planned and unplanned downtime.

Accommodate R&D and Engineering needs for development programs targeting process equipment, new products, recipes, technologies, and packaging. Provide technical support on production and equipment requirements for raw materials and finished goods, including standards, specifications, costs, and defect prevention. Identify and plan Kaizen/performance‑improvement activities such as speed increase, stop reduction, scrap reduction, planned downtime reduction, and labor‑efficiency improvement.

Ensure teams understand and report on key performance indicators: safety, quality, global efficiency, downtime, and consumer complaints. Use online performance tools (DMS, iDF) to enable core‑team intervention and achieve zero losses. Support new‑product introduction and major capital initiatives, providing performance data analysis to meet product and delivery standards.

Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and safety to identify, document, and control best practices across the organization. Resolve technical line issues using problem‑solving tools and generate test plans for solutions. Maintain process and packaging transformations, SOPs, and documentation updates; provide training on skill matrix guidance.

Support the quality system and address outages related to process, materials, procedures, and product. Assist with the maintenance plan (electrical and mechanical) and manage improvement lists and change‑management system. Serve as the contact for R&D and Engineering, supporting projects, improvements, and issue resolution; attend project startup team meetings.

Qualifications Continuous improvement experience related to modern manufacturing concepts. Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance and Six Sigma. Leadership and coaching of line teams.

Experience handling challenging interpersonal situations and influencing people in a union environment. Strong verbal and written communication with attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a quick‑paced workplace.

Computer skills (Windows, Excel, Word) and experience with SAP preferred. Strong organizational and technical skills; priority setting. Communication, training, skill‑matrix, people and time‑management skills.

Shop skills in AM & PM Steps 1–4. Green Belt and Lean Six Sigma tools (SMED, Kaizen, loss analysis). Statistical and process‑control skills.

Problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and breakdown elimination systems. Change management skills; SAP proficiency; advanced PC skills. Knowledge of AM and PM standards; ability to coach floor employees on 5S.

Project‑management experience. Education & Certifications Good understanding of AM and PM standards. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.

Relevant technical or engineering degree preferred. Schedule & Travel Monitored on a Monday‑to‑Friday schedule, standard business hours. No travel required.

Salary & Benefits Base salary range: $69,800–$87,250CAD, depending on experience, skills, and education. Eligible for a highly competitive bonus program.
