Job Description We are looking for a new Proposal Specialist to support pursuit and proposal activities and manage the development and implementation of pursuit plans and strategy. The preferred location for this position is in Western Canada. Key Responsibilities Assist in the completion of persuasive proposals, marketing collateral and presentations.
Develop a deep understanding of technical terminology, project management structure, and discipline functions by sector. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate groups of content providers, and adapt to changing priorities. Review RFPs and participate or lead strategic win‑plan discussions with Project Managers and Technical Leaders.
Coordinate and participate in proposal kick‑off meetings. Develop and implement the proposal template and schedule. Prepare various sections of the strategic win plan, including RFP requirements and schedule.
Facilitate color review meetings and drive content completion. Coordinate proposal formatting, writing, editing and proofreading efforts. Utilize graphic and organizational software (e.g., Visio, PowerPoint) to create key graphics.
Monitor client websites for RFPs, RFQs, LOIs, etc. Assist the Proposal Team with business development–related tasks to support the pre‑positioning phase with Technical Leads. Adhere to GHD’s values, code of conduct, and policies.
Build a strong internal network and contribute to identifying the best resources for the project team. Coordinate with Marketing and Graphic Teams to provide graphics support for bid packages, statements of qualifications (SOQs), and requests for proposal/information/qualifications (RFQ/RFI/RFQ). Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Minimum three years of experience coordinating and writing technical proposals for an engineering, construction, or professional services organization. Proficiency in marketing techniques (layout, graphics, strategy‑to‑win). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Visio, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign).
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Strong negotiation, problem‑solving, planning, and time‑management abilities. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize effectively.
Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00, depending on location and experience. Hybrid work model with up to two days working from home each week. We promote a culture of innovation, inclusion, and shared success.
