The Opportunity McElhanney is looking for an experienced Intermediate/Senior Civil Engineer who is a team player to join our growing team. In this role you’ll work on meaningful municipal and infrastructure projects that directly impact local communities, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development and team leadership.

Location This role reports to the Prince George office; the successful candidate may be based at any McElhanney office within British Columbia. What You’ll Do Build business and seek opportunities that will grow the skill set of the team. Provide detailed production of engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for various civil projects including new municipal utilities, road works, bridges and culverts, water and wastewater, and infrastructure upgrades.

Manage projects from planning through completion, including client communication, budgeting, scheduling, and overall project coordination. Work from preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs, plans and project informational requirements, using Civil 3D and other technical software as needed. Coordinate and assist in the preparation of documents required for approvals, prepare construction cost estimates, tender documents, and contracts, and coordinate with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.

Assist with construction management and contract administration, including field reviews and safety leadership visits. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff. What You’ll Bring Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with at least 6 years of relevant civil design experience. Registration in good standing as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or eligibility for registration) in British Columbia. Experience managing engineering projects, including professional accountability for designs, scheduling, budgets, and client communication.

Effective people, client and project management skills. Sound business acumen and a keen entrepreneurial spirit. Salary & Benefits The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $155,000 per annum, commensurate with education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications.

The base salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
