Senior Dam Design Engineer (Hydraulics) Experience Range : 8+ years Qualification : Bachelor of Civil Engineering/ Technology Location : Bengaluru/Pune A Senior Dam Design Engineer (Hydraulics) leads the conceptualization, modeling, and detailed design of hydraulic structures for dams and reservoirs, such as spillways, intakes, and energy dissipators. This role demands expertise in advanced hydraulic modeling, and multidisciplinary coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant water infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Hydraulic Modeling & Analys is: Conduct advanced 1D, 2D, and 3D hydraulic modeling (e.g., using HEC-RAS, Flow-3D, or ANSYS CFD) to simulate flow dynamics, flood routing, and reservoir operations.

Hydraulic Design of different dam structur es: Lead the design of complex hydraulic appurtenances including spillways, stilling basins, intake/outlet works including hydropower intakes, tunnels, and diversion schemes and channels. Dam Safety & Risk Assessme nt: Perform dam break analysis, hydraulic capacity assessments and contribute to Potential Failure Mode Analyses (PFMA) and dam safety evaluations. Cross-Discipline Coordinati on: Work seamlessly with geotechnical, structural, and environmental engineering teams to integrate hydraulic requirements into the broader dam design.

Project & Team Leadersh ip: Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets. Mentor junior engineers and review technical specifications, drawings, and reports. Requirements & Qualifications Educat ion: B.Tech in Civil Engineering and M.Tech. in Water Resources Engineering.

Experie nce: 8–15+ years of progressive experience in hydraulic analysis and design focused on water infrastructure, barrages, or hydroelectric/dam projects. Technical Software Ski lls: Mastery of industry-standard modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Flow-3D, Civil 3D and AutoCAD. Regulatory Knowle dge: Deep understanding of dam engineering guidelines and standards (e.g., ICOLD, USBR, FERC, or regional equivalents).

Analytical Ski lls: Strong foundation in open-channel hydraulics, and hydrology. Communicat ion: Exceptional technical writing and presentation skills for client meetings.
