Job Description
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Line of Business: Finance.
Pay: $96,900 - $136,800 CAD per year. The role is eligible for discretionary variable compensation based on business and individual performance. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Corporate Segment Finance team.
The candidate will provide financial analysis, lead planning and forecasting cycles, conduct monthly reviews of actuals and forecasts against plan, and support the Enterprise Marketing Organization. The role also involves close collaboration with partners on corporate and segment finance teams supporting reporting and forecasting within Marketing. Key Responsibilities Perform the role of business advisor to Marketing leaders and their teams by developing and reviewing cost center financials, and ensuring financial and accounting standards are followed within our reporting system.
Manage financial aspects of project tracking and reporting for the assigned portfolio, ensuring alignment with the annual fiscal budget and realization of expected benefits. Provide financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and preparation of executive presentations to communicate results, including: Monthly reporting and analysis of expenses – monitor financial performance, provide variance analysis, and offer insightful commentary. Monthly and quarterly forecasting – provide meaningful insights for lines of business to make informed decisions.
Support the annual planning process for Corporate and Segment expenses, including base and project budgets. Provide thought leadership and drive change by improving project data governance and process, building stronger relationships, and developing new value‑added project analytics. Deliver ad‑hoc analyses and participate in initiatives on behalf of the Corporate Segment Finance team; provide training as needed.
Promote a positive work environment that encourages productivity, innovation, creativity, teamwork, analysis and advice, acting as a role model. Work with technology to automate reporting capabilities and implement controls for reporting accuracy. Develop relationships with key stakeholders (Segment Finance Partners, TS, Operations, Shared Services, Business Management, Governance, etc.).
Job Requirements Skilled in financial planning, analytics, and project costing/business cases. Excellent analytical, problem‑resolution, and organizational skills, able to provide clear and concise summaries of relevant data, observations, and recommendations to management. Strong business acumen with a “value‑added” mindset; ability to consolidate information into clear and concise analysis.
Ability to work effectively under tight timelines and prioritize multiple deliverables to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the organization. Proactive self‑starter, able to work independently in a relatively unstructured environment.
Agility and speed to proactively identify and resolve issues. High competency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Hyperion and OBI is also considered an asset.
Education and Accreditation Undergraduate degree in business with a relevant professional designation (CPA) preferred. 8+ years of experience in Finance with proven relationship management and advisory experience in a medium to large organization that operates using best practices and performance management processes. Familiarity with TD’s reporting systems and/or processes across the organization is considered a strong asset. Previous experience in planning, forecasting, business case development, expense management, and financial analysis is considered an asset.
