Associate Engineer - Cloud

Intern Associate Engineer - Cloud Location: Kanata, ON About Wind River Wind River Cloud is focused on large‑scale projects including Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, and fast‑paced open‑source technologies that meet the high demand from our customers. These technologies form the core of our product, driving us to recruit experienced and high‑performing engineers who can learn and contribute to full software stack solutions for edge computing use cases ranging from security to high availability. The team delivers in the areas of configuration management, fault management, and host management, and is a leading contributor to the Open Source StarlingX cloud‑native project, which manages the critical infrastructure for highly distributed edge solutions, primarily 5G.

Responsibilities Contribute to the design and implementation of OS components with guidance from senior engineers. Develop high‑quality, maintainable code and tests within a CI/CD and agile environment. Debug and resolve issues found during testing or reported by internal teams.

Write clear technical documentation for designs and implementations. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including hardware, tools, and verification. Learn and apply best practices in real‑time, safety‑critical software development.

Key Skills and Competencies BE/BTech or ME/MTech degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent. Strong in C, C++, and RTOS fundamentals. Good understanding of automation tools, technology landscape, and OOPS concepts.

Good understanding of embedded systems and familiarity in building and developing SW modules. Interest or experience with leveraging AI to improve productivity. Driver and board‑level system software test development and integration.

Completed embedded courses from reputed institutes like Cranes/Vector. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
