Overview An exclusive partner of ours is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to drive scalability and execution. This is a hands‑on engineering leadership role focused on execution, delivery discipline, engineering standards, and team performance.

The VP of Engineering will report directly to the CTO and will be responsible for making sure engineering teams are operating effectively, shipping reliably, and building high‑quality B2B SaaS software. Key Responsibilities Core Focus Raising engineering standards Coaching engineering managers and team leads Increasing delivery predictability Reducing friction across teams Improving accountability without creating unnecessary bureaucracy Helping the organization adopt AI-assisted engineering tools in a practical, responsible way Engineering Leadership Lead a software development organization of roughly 25 engineers across five development teams Coach engineering managers, team leads, and senior technical contributors Help teams improve how they plan, build, test, release, and support software Create a culture where engineers take ownership of delivery, quality, and outcomes Identify gaps in team structure, process, communication, or performance Help raise the overall bar for engineering execution Engineering Operations & Delivery Own and improve the software development lifecycle across the engineering organization Bring more consistency to planning, sprint execution, release management, and delivery tracking Establish useful engineering metrics around cycle time, throughput, quality, capacity, and predictability Use data to understand where teams are blocked, overcommitted, or underperforming Improve delivery forecasting and make roadmap execution more reliable Keep teams focused on technical debt, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency Technical Standards Set clear expectations for engineering quality and production readiness Promote strong practices around CI/CD, test automation, observability, documentation, and supportability Work with engineering leads to make sure standards are applied consistently across teams Stay close enough to the technical work to challenge assumptions and evaluate tradeoffs Help teams balance speed, quality, security, and long‑term maintainability Drive practical adoption of AI‑assisted development tools Help teams use AI to improve coding, testing, documentation, and delivery speed Set expectations around responsible AI usage in a software engineering environment Identify where AI can create real productivity gains without creating quality, security, or compliance risk Push the organization to modernize how engineering work gets done Cross-Functional Delivery Serve as the main operating leader for software delivery Partner closely with Product, Platform Engineering, Security, Client Services, and executive leadership Translate roadmap priorities into realistic engineering plans Help the business understand delivery risks, tradeoffs, timelines, and dependencies Make sure customer commitments are met without sacrificing software quality Improve communication between engineering and non-technical stakeholders Required Experience 10+ years of software engineering experience 5+ years of engineering management experience Experience leading engineering teams of 20+ people Strong background in B2B SaaS software Technical credibility with engineers, architects, and technical leads Experience improving engineering process, SDLC discipline, and delivery predictability Strong understanding of CI/CD, observability, automated testing, release management, and production support Comfortable using metrics to manage delivery, capacity, and team performance Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to simplify complex technical issues for business stakeholders Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States Preferred Experience Experience in fintech, regtech, financial services technology, or another regulated software environment Experience leading engineering teams through growth, change, or process improvement Experience improving engineering accountability without overengineering process Experience introducing or expanding AI-assisted software development tools Experience in a customer‑facing B2B SaaS environment where delivery commitments matter Our client is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, or any other protected status under applicable law. #J-18808-Ljbffr
