The role: As a forensic expert, you will be called upon to solve some of the most unique and puzzling cases in the field of civil engineering.
Through a process of investigation and research, the successful candidate will need to understand and identify the causal factors of damage while eliminating other possible causes for residential, commercial, and light industrial claims. The key responsibilities are: Documentthescene,assess,analyzeandstateyouropinionastotheprobablecauseofthedamage. Investigate damage related to structural collapses of all kinds, along with damages related to flooding, wind, soil movement, blasting & vibrations, water infiltrations, condensation, as well as slip, trip, and falls accidents, etc.
Conduct structural analysis to determine the cause of failure or adequacy of structural components following an incident. Managethebuildingpermitapplicationprocessrelatedtobuildingdamage. Perform condition assessments of buildings and properties.
Prepare repair drawings and technical specifications. PreparereportsandtestifyasanexpertwitnessinCourt. Promote the company through your friendly and professional attitude during your interactions with customers and strengthen your relationships with them.
Whatyoubringtothetable: University degree in Structural, Civil, or Building Engineering or a recognized equivalent. Licensed as an Engineer in Québec is considered a strong asset. 5+ years of experience, preferably in consulting, construction quality control, or construction site supervision/project management. Strong command of both oral and written communication including report writing in French and English.
Field experience in structural & civil works, infrastructure, construction methods and materials, geotechnical, and building science engineering. Efficient, attentive to details, good hands-on skills, setting priorities and organizational skills.
