Position Title:Principal Engineer Job Id: 2026_1034 JOB SUMMARY: Marriott is seeking a Senior Software Engineer Corporate Systems to join the team responsible for advancing our next generation cloud-based HR, Payroll, analytics, and AI platform. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for emerging technologies, a forward-thinking approach to building sustainable and scalable solutions, and a commitment to excellence. In this position, you will serve as a technical authority on system capabilities pertaining to HR and Payroll Products.

Your responsibilities will include conducting research, analysis, design, and development across a range of advanced solutions involving SaaS Oracle HCM, custom applications, APIs, and integration frameworks. You will be responsible for establishing technical standards and developing reusable frameworks to ensure secure, consistent, and efficient integration capabilities and product delivery. The role also includes technical oversight of Service Provider deliverables, guiding their technical teams to meet high quality standards, adhere to best practices, and achieve performance objectives at scale.

Additionally, you will evaluate emerging technologies to identify future opportunities and address complex technical challenges. You will make informed decisions regarding complex, non-routine requests that support Marriott business teams in analytics-driven decision making. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience: Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification 6-10 years techno-functional experience in information technology application development and support with Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Fusion SaaS system Functional Expertise: Strong expertise in configuring Oracle Fusion Payroll, including Elements, Calculation Cards, Balances, and Payroll Flows. Hands-on experience developing Fast Formulas for payroll and tax calculations, and managing earnings, deductions, and absences with eligibility rules. Proven experience in Setting up Payroll Costing and reconciliation of costing results for accounting.

Solid understanding of the end-to-end payroll lifecycle Experience in implementing Oracle Fusion Payroll with Absence, Time & Labor (OTL), and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Experience with data loading tools, including HDL and Spreadsheet Data Loaders Strong knowledge of the Oracle fusion HCM security framework, including role-based access and data security controls. Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of Oracle HCM Cloud product capabilities, Business Objects, Business Object Relationships, seeded processes and system dependencies. Strong Experience with Fast Formulas, BI reports, HCM Extracts, UCM, HSDL, and HDLs Familiarity with SFTP and other data transfer and file transfer capabilities.

Deep knowledge of and ability to perform standard product configuration and management tasks like Setup and Maintenance, Auto-complete rules, Enterprise Structure and Workforce Structures. Ability to manage and control deployments and migrations using Sandboxes, Configuration Set Migration (CSM) and Functional Setup Migration (FSM) Strong understanding and experience of Oracle HCM Cloud configuration and management tools like Page Composer, Alerts Composer, HCM Experience design studio, ESS jobs, Checklists and Journeys and Document Records Ability to configure flexfields, Navigation, Appearance, Infolets, Help content and autocomplete rules Professional Expertise: Ability to elicit and understand business requirements, ask questions and translate the requirements into design documents. Ability to analyze, organize and document detailed and comprehensive technical, and non-functional requirements.

Experience developing test plans, test scripts, managing unit, systems, regression, and user acceptance testing. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in Oracle HCM Cloud and follow through to a resolution. Ability to work independently, identifying and driving required tasks to completion in a timely manner.

Proven ability to support all aspects of large, complex applications with multiple stakeholders Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests while working on time sensitive projects and upgrades Experience in waterfall and/or agile software methodologies Should have experience of working cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, and Talent Management teams Vendor management experience Preferred Qualifications: Graduate degree 2 to 5 years of experience using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and/or Oracle SOA Suite Knowledge of SOA Web Services and REST integrations Completion of Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud: Oracle Payroll Implementation Certification Additional preference for Oracle certifications in any of the following cloud products: Global HR, Benefits, Payroll, Absence Management, Talent Management, Learning or Recruiting Cloud. Technology leadership experience in a sourced or internally managed environment 6-10 years domain experience relevant to supported business function; Industry and competitive landscape knowledge. Knowledge of related Oracle tools like Oracle Visual Builder Studio and APEX and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) PaaS.
