Cyber Security Consultant

Job Description: Experience - 9-13 years Work Mode - Hybrid Role title - Cybersecurity Consultant Location - Pune and Bangalore A Senior Secure by Design engineer within the EU7 Secure by Design (SbD) team acts as a trusted security partner to technology, product, network, and business stakeholders. The role leads and performs security assessments across a broad range of domains, including IT, cloud, networks, and telecommunications platforms, and ensures that security is embedded throughout the full solution lifecycle. The Senior SbD engineer proactively manages cyber risk, influences architectural and design decisions, and supports Vodafone markets within EU7 in delivering secure, resilient, and compliant services by design.

More specifically you will: Lead and perform security design and architecture assessments for complex or business critical solutions across IT, cloud, network, and telecommunications environments. Identify, assess, and communicate cyber risks early in the lifecycle, supporting proportionate risk treatment and informed decision making with stakeholders. Define, review, and approve security requirements and controls aligned with Vodafone standards, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices.

Provide senior level security consultancy and guidance to engineering, network, and delivery teams, embedding security by default into designs and operations. Support security governance through risk sign off, exception handling, and contribution to management and executive level reporting. Who you are: Strong professional experience in cyber security (typically 8+ years) covering multiple domains such as IT infrastructure, cloud, networks, telecommunications, and application security.

Solid understanding of security principles, secure design patterns, threat modelling, and risk management across enterprise and telco environments. Practical knowledge of network and telecommunications security, including IP networking, signalling, core and access networks, and associated security controls. Ability to translate complex technical risks into clear, business focused recommendations and to influence stakeholders without direct authority.

Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with professional certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CCSP or equivalent) considered an advantage.
