Software Developer Engineer

Software Engineer (Ottawa, Ontario) Bartech Staffing is seeking a mid‑level Software Developer for a contract position in Ottawa. Hourly Pay Range: $65.00 - $67.16 Hybrid: 4 days a week in office Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain custom applications, automation solutions, and intelligent integrations that extend our Atlassian ecosystem and connect it with enterprise SaaS platforms and AI‑powered workflows. Collaborate with a dedicated Atlassian administration team, focusing on development, integrations, and tooling that delivers measurable business value.

Develop backend Python automation, React‑based components, RESTful integrations with third‑party systems, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) server functionality to enable AI‑assisted automation within Jira, Confluence, and JSM. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Minimum 3 years of hands‑on software development experience with Python, including automation scripting and backend tooling. Minimum 2 years of experience with GCP.

Demonstrated experience building and maintaining REST API integrations between enterprise SaaS platforms. Solid understanding and practical experience with Git and GitHub for version control and workflow management. Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API authentication patterns in enterprise integration contexts.

Demonstrated ability to design, document, and deliver integration solutions in a collaborative engineering environment. Experience building or integrating with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for AI‑assisted workflows and automation. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
