Research Engineer

Job Title: Research Engineer Location: London, Kings Cross Remuneration: £54.81 per hour Contract Length: 6 months Responsibilities: Conduct cutting-edge research to push the boundaries of machine learning systems. Design innovative methods, tools, and infrastructure to enhance large language models. Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional partners, effectively communicating research plans, progress, and outcomes.

Gather and synthesise requirements to create a compelling feature roadmap. Work closely with the engineering team to deliver code and practical solutions. Publish research findings and contribute to the development of impactful products for our client.

Minimum Qualifications: Hands-on experience in machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining, or artificial intelligence. Proven experience in developing machine learning models at scale, including querying and post-training of large language models. Proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch.

Experience executing complex experiments with large AI models and datasets. Ability to translate research insights into actionable business recommendations. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Direct experience in generative AI and large language model research. PhD or research-focused Master’s degree in machine learning or related areas. Background in physics or mathematics is a plus.
